The 3 Mistakes Of My Life

Though i'm still to read the book, Chetan Bhagat's title just got me thinking....

If I had to point out "the 3 mistakes of my life", they would be....

1) That i was born

2) That i cannot think selflessly

3) That i'm only human...............

Blogging Shogging Hai Rabba!!

Now this is what is called a sabbatical...haven't 'blogged' for 4 months n 15 dayz now....n the reason?? none really or laziness probably........for those who thought i was dead, well...lemme tell u i'm still 'Alive n Kicking'...

this is something tht happens to those who force themselves into activities tht don' really come naturally to them, i'm talking 'bout my selfish self here.....having said this, i don' intend to degrade myself at all, i just am stating the obvious.....writing or expressing thoughts in words doesn't come easy to me, need to scratch a lot of my head n hold an immense deal of patience throughout the time i write (or rather type) the post......honestly i find this activity difficult; pleasurable though.....

I tried a hand (or rather foot) at dancing as well, only to realize i'm nt good at it as well....do i sound depressed already?? nah..no wayzzz....

wht i feel is one needs to have a basic stem of a talent/skill which is innate, which can be honed n groomed and on which things can be built upon through practice n experience...

each one of us hv our own set of assets which need to be identified n worked upon...

coming back to blogging.....

i feel relieved getting back to it, even if nobody reads my posts, no worries at all.....i just love this activity.....even if there's no creativity involved here, it does leave me creatively satisfied.....does tht make any sense.....?? it does to me...

i sometimes fear i'll be accused of plagiarism....the titles of all my posts are borrowed or lifted from something or somewhere..but trust me, this 'lifting' isn't deliberate, it just strikes to me instantly ...like this one....it's 'inspired' from Gurinder Chadha's Bend It Like Beckham, arre uska hindi version yaar- Football Shootball Hai Rabba....i already sound like an Anu Malik then n a Pritam now...ooops....

tht's enuf for a comeback i guess....hey i like this tag yaar...which tag?? tht of a CBK, a 'comeback kid'....i love being into this blogosphere again....Hai Rabba...sigh of relief...period.

As "GOOD" As It Gets

There's an all time favorite movie by this name - "As good as it gets", starring the devilishly sheepish Jack Nicholson and the oh-so charming Helen Hunt, those who still haven't watched it...go, just do it (even if ur not sporting a Nike) 'coz it doesn't deserve a miss...

Wait a second...gooddammit, aah..i mean goddammit... this post is not to promote the movie..

There's this age-old adage which says - "whatever happens.....happens for the good"...."जो होता है अच्छे के लिए होता है".....this just left me wondering..wht's so good 'bout the following????

• mumbai terror attacks or terrorism as a whole
• pollution
• inflation
• AIDS n HIV positive status
• recession
• mafia,underworld,'bhaigiri'.....
• slums n poverty
• reality TV

i thought..n...i thought more...n not many good things struck my thinking organ, but thank goodness, here's what it managed.....

• terrorism, apart from good-old cricket (which generates a pseudo-patriotism), is the only phenomenon against which all of us stand united, n which generates a strong sense of patriotism...."Good walls make good neighbours" they say, but our not-so-good neighbour fails to realize this...the Mumbai terror attacks also got us to value our NSG commandos, placing them ahead of Shahrukh in a popular vote of idealized heroes...my salute to them as well...most importantly, it forced certain irresponsible politicians to step down, but is that good enough??


• pollution, well...ummm....yeah....couldn't get much on this one...but it does make us ponder a good li'l while upon the fact that all the development happening...is it actually helping us? is all growth growing to decay?? development ke side effects....iss mein achchha kya hai? it gives a good amount of footage to certain celebrities to express concern n garner media attention by talking 'bout global warming....how good is that?


• inflation...the good thing 'bout it is tht it's rapidly seen a downfall in the last few days....good atleast for the incumbent government as the nation prepares itself for the polls...good luck, Manmohanji...


• the only good thing 'bout HIV n AIDS is that it's a fashionable cause to stand for...it does manage some good media scoops (remember the Richard Gere-Shilpa Shetty baap of all embraces)...and and.....the scare of HIV does get people into practising safe sex, whenever fidelity goes for a toss...ahem...


• recession....has it reached India? or is it still a good distance away?? 'm confused....lay offs, unemployment, depression...omigawd, i'm supposed to discuss the good part of it here..maybe it teaches u a good lesson or two 'bout valuing money n surviving in testing times..maybe!!


• mafia, 'bhai'giri, underworld...they gave us one of the most endearing movie characters, bole toh..Munnabhai n also gave Ramgopal Verma some good Company in Satya...


• slums n poverty.....Shobha De's said enough good words for Slumdog Millionaire....need i say more....JAI HO!!!


• reality TV sucks....or does it?? nach baliye...indian idol....comedy circus....roadies..they've really saved a few good hours of our weekends from boredom...or have they? Shilpa Shetty's sagging fortunes were revived, thanks to Big Brother...good for her....humein kya fark padta hai? but i like her yaar...

that's been a pretty good dose of goodness....good's not good any more 'coz it's gotten a good too much... erstwhile PM, Shri Vajpayeeji wud hv sighed -"ye achchhi (good) baat nahi hai" .....yawn...before i start to get a good-for-nothing feel, i'll wind up this goody goody post..

Newbie's Delight

Hello...am totally new to the blogging scene...it's something 'bout blogging that entices u...it's like ur own personal space ( read: comfort zone) where u uninhibitedly express ur views, opinions, or whatever u feel strongly (or even weakly) about...there's so much inside u that does not find an expression....blog is just the right place to be...it's almost akin to catharsis..n a lotta fun at the same time...let's see how long does it keep me hooked up to it...how long does my interest n enthusiasm hold on...let's see...i'm positive...
